Together Women’s Health Opens New Diagnostic Imaging Center in Royal Oak

Together Women’s Health (TWH) has inaugurated a new diagnostic imaging center at a ribbon-cutting event held on November 13, in Royal Oak, marking a noteworthy expansion in their services. This launch represents TWH’s ongoing commitment to women’s health, enhancing the comprehensive care services they offer. Located strategically for accessibility among TWH’s practice locations, the center is aimed at improving patient experiences and outcomes through cutting-edge technology and exceptional service.

Anthony Ahee, inspired by his stepmother’s dedication as an OB-GYN, leads Together Women’s Health as its founder. His motivation was to address the inherent challenges faced by OB-GYN practitioners, who often grapple with demanding physical and emotional workloads and administrative burdens that detract from patient care. Recognizing the need to uphold the core values of private practice while simultaneously affording these practices the necessary resources to thrive, Ahee formed TWH, a management service organization headquartered in the City of Grosse Pointe.

TWH’s Mission and Expansion

Comprehensive Support for Healthcare Providers

TWH’s mission is to provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers, encompassing human resources, marketing, and accounting, allowing these professionals to focus primarily on patient relationships and care plans. This model aims to significantly improve patient outcomes across various locations. Since its inception in 2021, TWH has rapidly expanded its network, partnering with reputable physicians to form a premier network of women’s health services in the U.S. Their commitment to providing resources and alleviating administrative burdens underscores the importance of allowing healthcare providers to prioritize patient care over paperwork.

By managing crucial aspects such as HR and finances, TWH lets healthcare professionals devote more time and energy to their patients, fostering a stronger, more personal healthcare experience. This comprehensive approach has resonated within the medical community, facilitating rapid growth and establishing TWH’s reputation for excellence. This vision of a patient-centric approach, coupled with extensive support for healthcare providers, has laid a robust foundation for TWH’s continuing expansion and resolve to improve women’s health services nationwide.

Rapid Growth and Network Expansion

Their affiliate network now boasts 17 practices, more than 160 providers—75 of whom are based in Michigan—operating from over 35 locations including Grosse Pointe, Roseville, Royal Oak, Birmingham, and Dearborn. As of now, TWH operates in six states, with plans to extend into two additional states soon, bringing nearly 200 healthcare providers under its umbrella. This extensive network exemplifies TWH’s dedication to reaching as many patients as possible with their high standards of care and support. This growth strategy is a testament to their reputation and the trust that various practices and professionals place in their mission.

The expansion into new states will further solidify TWH’s presence in the women’s health sector, bringing innovative care and support to a broader geographical audience. As the organization continues to incorporate more practices and healthcare providers, their network enhances the accessibility and quality of women’s health services. This methodical and strategic expansion underscores TWH’s commitment to maintaining quality while increasing reach, ensuring that more women have access to top-tier healthcare services.

The New Imaging Center

Advanced Facilities and Patient-Centric Environment

The ribbon-cutting event for the new center drew attention to its advanced facilities and patient-centric environment. Ahee emphasized that the center features state-of-the-art equipment and is intended to create a job-friendly space while being highly accommodating to patients. The imaging center offers a comprehensive range of preventative mammogram screenings, breast ultrasounds, diagnostic imaging, and breast biopsies, spearheaded by a team of fellowship-trained radiologists specializing in breast imaging.

These facilities provide an environment that not only meets the highest standards of medical technology but also prioritizes patient comfort and convenience. The strategic design and layout of the imaging center reflect a deep understanding of patient needs and an unwavering commitment to delivering a positive healthcare experience. This combination of advanced technology and patient-focused service positions the new center as a pivotal part of TWH’s efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of women’s healthcare services.

Leadership and Expertise

The standout physicians leading the imaging team are Dr. Zeynep Yilmaz-Saab and Dr. Kelly McAleese. Dr. Yilmaz-Saab holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University, further specializing in radiology and breast imaging at the University of Michigan. Dr. McAleese, the founder and medical director of The Women’s Imaging Center—a TWH affiliate in Denver with five locations—earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford, completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at Dartmouth Medical School, and a radiology residency at the University of Arizona. Their combined expertise ensures that patients receive the highest level of diagnostic accuracy and care.

The new imaging center, under their leadership, aims to deliver top-tier care and exceptional patient experience, drawing on best practices from successful models like The Women’s Imaging Center in Denver. Their experience and specialization in breast imaging ensure that the center is not only advanced in technology but also rich in clinical expertise. This leadership is vital in establishing trust and confidence among patients, who can be assured of receiving proficient and empathetic care during their diagnostic procedures.

Enhancing Patient Experience

Timely and Accurate Diagnoses

The new imaging center stands as an integral part of TWH’s broader strategy of advancing women’s health through innovative and comprehensive care. Offering the latest imaging technology ensures timely and accurate diagnoses, a critical function as early detection can significantly impact outcomes in breast cancer treatment. Dr. Yilmaz-Saab expressed the team’s commitment to creating a supportive and expert-driven environment to make the imaging process as comfortable as possible for patients. Ensuring accurate and rapid diagnoses is crucial, as it significantly reduces patient anxiety and facilitates timely medical interventions.

The utilization of cutting-edge imaging technology not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also accelerates the overall process, thereby improving patient outcomes. The team’s dedication to maintaining a comforting and professional environment demonstrates their awareness of the emotional and physical challenges patients face during diagnostic procedures. This holistic approach underscores TWH’s commitment to providing comprehensive care that addresses both the medical and emotional needs of their patients.

Reducing Patient Wait Times

A unique facet of the imaging center’s operation is its ability to reduce patient wait times after screenings. Addressing the typical anxiety associated with extended wait times for mammogram results, the diagnostic center provides next-day or even same-day diagnostics. This approach is vital in managing the overall healthcare journey for women, whether for preventive care or diagnostics, aiming to alleviate fears and ensure comfort during critical times. By offering swift and accurate diagnostics, the center significantly enhances patient satisfaction and reduces the stress associated with waiting for results.

This expedited process is particularly important in the context of breast cancer screenings, where early detection and intervention can dramatically improve prognoses. By minimizing wait times, TWH not only optimizes operational efficiency but also prioritizes patient well-being, reinforcing their commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care. This focus on prompt service delivery exemplifies how TWH’s innovative approaches directly benefit patient experiences and outcomes.

Proactive and Affordable Care

Streamlined Appointments and Reminders

Moreover, TWH’s approach includes a proactive reminder system for patients, where appointments can be scheduled to streamline annual visits and mammograms. Notably, the emphasis is also on maintaining affordability. By providing diagnostic services within their office settings, TWH offers these at a fraction of the cost typically seen in more traditional healthcare settings, all while ensuring superior patient experiences and outcomes. This approach makes high-quality care more accessible and affordable, aligning with TWH’s mission to improve women’s health services comprehensively.

Patients benefit from the convenience and efficiency of centralized care, reducing the need for multiple visits to different facilities. This streamlined process also helps to ensure that preventive measures, such as annual mammograms, are not overlooked, promoting regular and timely health assessments. TWH’s focus on affordability without compromising on quality exemplifies their commitment to making excellent healthcare services available to a broader population.

Inclusive Community Services

He sought to tackle the challenges OB-GYN practitioners face, such as rigorous physical and emotional demands, as well as administrative burdens that often hinder patient care. Motivated by these challenges, Ahee established TWH, a management service organization based out of Grosse Pointe. His mission is to support private practices by providing the necessary resources to help them thrive while maintaining their core values.
